So - last year saw the introduction of the Race Ultra 290 from inov-8, which Chris Hough reviewed here.

This year, considering the success of that shoe - it stands to reason that the only improvement (for some) would be to create a slightly lower version (by which we mean a version with less differential between heel and fore-foot), for those who favour a 'low drop' and have become stronger in that more natural position.

Well here it is, in all its colourful glory.  The Race Ultra 270 retains all of the important features, but sheds some heel.  Styled as a racing verson of the Race Ultra 290, there's a reduction in weight, obviously - but there's also less of the wrap around moulding at the edge of the midsole.  You'll work harder in the 270, but move faster when you want to.

Comes in inov-8's Standard Fit, for greater width through the foot and a broader toe box for swollen feet or fuller foot function for those who already have wide feet.
